If you prepare your move well, you can save time and money. We recommend you to keep the following things in mind:
- Start packing ahead of time so that everything is ready on the day of the move. The rule of thumb is: One day per room.
- Standardized cardboard box sizes prevent hollow spaces in the moving truck and save space for this reason. Protect fragile items with special protective wrapping or bubble wrap.
- Use the opportunity and clean and repair furniture, carpets or appliances – every missing piece reduces the costs of your move!
- Make a list with items that are stored outside of your apartment (garden, basement, attic or stairway) and need to be moved as well.
- Label all items that are to be moved. What should be placed where in your new home? In the best case, you should use colored marker points, which you can also find in our moving shop. It will make the unpacking process much easier for you, if you properly label your boxes.
- Plan in advance how you want to setup your new apartment. In case you are moving into an especially big or multi-storied building, it will help the moving team, if you provide it with a footprint of the apartment including the desired positions of your furniture.
- Inform your current and future neighbors about your move so that entrances and access roads are kept free on the day of your move.
